How Would You Like to Run a Fun, Effective Youth Baseball Practice?
Practices in any sport can be boring and unproductive if not planned in advance. Having a notepad with your workout itinerary written down is just a good solid idea. You can keep track of your time slots for certain exercises and keep them in a folder so you’ll know what you’ve covered.
Keep your practices to 90 minutes when possible. I realize that the early pre-season practices will probably be over due to the weather which will waste valuable time at the start.
Separate the practices with a few water breaks, in order to add group instructions. Water breaks are not free for everyone, they are for listening. Review what you have done so far and what you are going to do next.
KEEP THE PRACTICE ON!
Workouts can be divided into different stations. A station is a group of players and 1 or 2 coaches. The term station refers to any skill being worked on at that “station”.
Typically, you divide your players and coaches based on the drills you do. For example, take 3 receivers and perform a blocking drill for 15 minutes.
